May 31 – With Chelsea Women entering a new era, and Sonia Bompastor replacing Emma Hayes who has already landed in the US for her new role as women’s national team manager, the club has unveiled a long-term strategic plan to develop the women’s team as a stand-alone entity to the men’s team and infrastructure.
The strategic plan follows the agreement between the English Football Association and its professional women’s clubs to create a new and independent company to run the WSL and Championship from next season.

May 7 – The prospective takeover of ailing English Premier League club Everton by 777 Partners has been plunged into further doubt after one of its lenders accused the Miami-based investment firm of fraud running into hundreds of millions of dollars.
According to a lawsuit filed in a federal court in New York, 777 owes more than $600 million to two London-based asset management companies, Leadenhall Capital and Leadenhall Life.
777 has already lent around £200 million to Everton but the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test has stalled the sale.

May 30 – Leeds United have announced that Red Bull have acquired a minority ownership stake in the club and will also become their front-of-shirt sponsor in a multi-year deal.
